Vikke is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York, and joined the firm in 1989. Vikke graduated from St. Michael’s College with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting-Cum Laude. She provides business advisory services to small business, such as, acquisition, business structure, tax planning and acquiring financing as well as preparation of review and compiled financial statements. She handles both preparation and reviews of corporate and individual taxation, IRS and NYS tax audits, tax collections and offer and compromises. Vikke is a member of the AICPA.
Mike graduated from the State University of New York at Albany – Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Prior to joining the firm in October 1996, he was employed as a senior accountant with the accounting firm of Sweeney, Fiorile and Associates, CPAs, LLP for 3 years. Mike has been a partner in the firm since 2002. Mike specializes in medical and professional practices and construction. He also has expertise and oversees most estate/trust and partnership taxation in the firm. Additionally, he prepares non-profit audit, review and compilation financial statements. Mike is a member of the AICPA.
Alyssa graduated from the State University of New York at Geneseo with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Alyssa has been with the firm since 2002. Alyssa specializes in delinquent taxes, late filing, and IRS problems. She also has expertise in payroll and employment taxes. Alyssa is a member of the AICPA.
Michael graduated from Siena College with a Bachelor of Business Administration and received his M.B.A. in Finance from the State University of New York at Albany. Prior to co-founding the firm in 1980, Michael was an audit manager at the regional accounting firm of Urbach, Kahn and Werlin, P.C. Michael specializes in business negotiations for business acquisitions, partner/shareholder buy-ins and outs, various business contracts and tax audit negotiations and strategies. Mike is a member of the AICPA.
Jerry graduated from Siena College with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Siena College. Prior to co-founding the firm in 1980, Gerald DeAngelus was employed by the New York State Comptroller’s Office as an audit manager on the Albany South Mall project, supervising the audits of the main platform change orders along with claims for equitable adjustments on the Legislative Office Building, the Meeting Center, the State Museum and the Swan Street Building, along with various construction projects in New York City. In addition, Jerry has testified as a tax expert in various Federal and New York State courts. He has also provided guidance as a consultant on matters related to Code Section 1031, tax free exchanges. Jerry is a member of the AICPA.
Alana graduated from the State University at Albany with a Master’s Degree in Forensic Accounting and has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of the West Indies. In addition to those qualifications, she is also a certified public accountant in NYS. She provides individual and business entity income tax services, prepares financial statements, performs audits and reviews for nonprofits and other small business enterprises and fulfils the bookkeeping function for clients in various industries. She joined the firm back in 2015.
Tara graduated from The College of Saint Rose with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She is an accountant with more than 17 years of experience in public accounting, serving small businesses, individuals and tax-exempt organizations. Tara is known for her attention to detail and strong personal skills. She works with a variety of industries providing financial statement reviews, compilations and audits, income, payroll and sales tax, bookkeeping and consulting services to businesses, individuals and not for profit organizations.
Jeremy graduated from The College of Saint Rose with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Prior to joining the firm in December 2007, he was employed as a staff accountant with the accounting firm of McKenna & Frank, CPAs. He has 17 years of experience in accounting, auditing and tax preparation in public accounting. Jeremy specializes in non-profit organizations attestation engagements including audits, reviews and compilations including preparation of tax exempt tax returns. Additionally, he prepares individual, corporation and partnership income tax returns, provides bookkeeping and consulting services to businesses, individuals and non-profit organizations.
Mary Ellen graduated from Siena College with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. She joined the firm in August 2012. She has 28 years of experience in financial statement preparation for both large and small businesses, budgeting, payroll, sales tax and bookkeeping. Upon graduation she worked for NYS Taxation and Finance Department as a Sales Tax Auditor. Then after 3 years went into Health Care working at Blue Shield of NENY, CDPHP and Albany Medical Center for 11 years. During those years she did rate analysis, budget prep, financial statements and tax return prep. She also did bookkeeping and payroll for a small family owned business.
Gwen graduated from Siena College with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing/Management. She is the administrative support for tax, financial statements, billing, accounts receivable and other general business activities.
Kym graduated from Erie County Community College with and Associates degree in Business. Prior to joining Slocum, DeAngelus & Associates in 2005, Kym was employed in various not-for-profit organizations as an office manager, full charge bookkeeper and tax preparer. In her years at Slocum, DeAngelus & Associates, Kym has worked primarily in Sales Tax and Payroll – preparing sales tax and payrolls for numerous clients.
